Keith Warnke
Dear Keith Warnke,
Even though this is a form letter I fully endorse the revisions to ch. NR 10 so that Wisconsin hunters can have a 4-day antlerless deer hunt in December, North of Hwy 8. By making such modifications to this rule we are helping control deer populations for a better environmental balance of habitat, disease and recreation.
This modification would also help take pressure off our muzzleloader brethren so they do not lose the exclusive gun season that they now enjoy. If you recall from last year a suggested compromise from the Legislature would have superimposed a t-zone gun season over the muzzleloader season.
The conflict between the snowmobilers and hunters/landowners that the snowmobile lobby vowed would happen did not materialize. That prediction was a key reason the rule was given a one-year trial. It is now evident with hindsight that we as hunters and landowners should be able to hunt deer in December North of Hwy 8.
Thank you for your efforts last year in getting hunters the trial season.
I am sending this letter because I could not attend any of the 3 hearings because of location or time.
Respectfully,
